Frias Properties of Aspen is proud to announce the addition of Lisa Jennings as the company’s new Group Sales Manager. She most recently worked at the Ritz-Carlton Club at Aspen Highlands, where she was the manager of the children’s program.
Jennings is a native of Richmond, Va., was a hospitality major at James Madison University and was recruited by the Ritz-Carlton Club at Aspen Highlands – whose general manager happens to be a JMU alum. During her four year stint at the Ritz, Jennings held a variety of positions, including concierge for three years.
In her new role as group sales manager at Frias, Lisa will work with meeting planners, tour operators, travel agents and representatives from around the world to coordinate summer and winter getaways for groups ranging in size from small ski groups to entire wedding parties and corporate retreats. Every season, Frias Properties accommodates a large number of athletes, guests and media for Aspen’s largest events – Winter X Games, Food & Wine Classic, Jazz Aspen Snowmass, USA Pro Cycling Challenge, Ruggerfest, Motherlode volleyball, and many more. Frias currently has an inventory of more than 200 condominiums, townhomes and private homes to choose from as well as the Independence Square in downtown Aspen.
This week, Lisa sits down with our blog team to discuss her new position at Frias Properties.
Q: What’s exciting about working with groups?
A: “The ability to form relationships with the group members and look forward to seeing them on their return visits to Aspen. It’s also great to hear first-time visiting groups remark how much they enjoyed Aspen and can’t wait to come back again.”
Q: What interested you in the group position at Frias Properties?
A: “I’ve wanted to gain more experience in sales and marketing, and the ability to market and promote Aspen as a premier resort destination to different groups attracted me to the position. I’ve heard very positive comments from people who have worked at Frias and I value that when looking at companies to work for.”
Q: What does Frias do different than other companies?
A: “Frias values and delivers a high level of customer service to their customers, as well as among the team. I really appreciate that everyone has been so welcoming!”
Q: Why are group sales important?
A: “Group sales are a very important market for Aspen and Frias because it exposes consumers that might not choose to visit Aspen on their own our amazing town. This can market Aspen to a different consumer and encourage them to promote Aspen to their friends and family.”
Q: What size of groups can you accommodate?
A: “We can accommodate any size or type of group and I look forward to bringing new groups to Frias and Aspen!”
Q: What do you like most about Aspen?
A: “The small-town atmosphere of Aspen was very appealing to me, and after my first summer here I knew that I made the right choice.”
Q: Do you enjoy summers or winters?
A: “I like all four seasons in Aspen, but the summer is definitely my favorite! I am looking forward to camping, hiking, and Thursday night concerts in Snowmass.”
Q: Do you ski or snowboard?
A: “I can do both, but I definitely prefer skiing.”
Q: What’s your favorite mountain?
A: “I enjoy skiing Snowmass or Highlands on my days off, and Ajax is my favorite mountain to hike!”
Q: What local restaurants do you recommend?
A: “Campo di Fiori, Kenichi, and Ajax Tavern.”
Q: What’s the one piece of advice you’d give a guest coming to Aspen?
A: “Enjoy yourself and try as many activities as you can, you are in the most fun and beautiful place in America.”
