After 14 inches of snow fell at Aspen/Snowmass in January, our friends at Aspen/Snowmass dispatched their Content Crew to Aspen Highlands to report back. Clearly their mission was a success!

The Aspen Winternational World Cup races went down in Aspen/Snowmass once again November 26-27, 2011, featuring the world’s fastest women skiers and a podium by the U.S. Ski Team’s Julia Mancuso. It was an action packed weekend with the opening of Aspen Mountain on Thanksgiving day, a free Bud Light Hi-Fi Concert and a big crowd cheering on all the racers as they descended Aspen Mountain.

Aspen: Defy Ordinary

Aspen's name alone conjures images of majestic mountains, epic skiing and snowboarding, outdoor adventure, healthy living, divine dining, stirring nightlife and exceptional shopping. To the world, Aspen means, "The Good Life." And yes, our town has everything the good life has to offer. But perhaps even more relevant, Aspen has soul.

With the change in season comes a bevy of new restaurants, shops, events and more. From a new restaurant sourcing 80 percent local ingredients to an emerging European designer opening her first U.S. store in Aspen, the downtown scene promises to be a flurry of activity during winter 2010/2011:

• United has added new non-stop service from Houston, as well as a fourth daily non-stop flight from Chicago for the winter season, along with a second daily non-stop flight from San Francisco. • In addition to new storefronts and eateries, Aspen hosts spectacular winter events. The winter calendar features the 12 Days of Aspen, the 19th annual Aspen Academy Screenings, and the 60th annual Wintersköl.
