"Very Nicely Updated and on a Roaring River"
5 of 5
The outside of the building doesn't look like much, but inside is completely updated. The property has 2 bedrooms on the top floor which is where you enter. The main living area is down a flight of stairs that contains one big open area with a kitchen, living room and dining area, and the entrance on to the deck (which is only a few feet above the river). The 3rd bedroom is off the kitchen down a short hall. We rented this property last minute for $475/nt plus fees which was a reasonable value. The place was gutted (according to the neighbors) and completely updated. The master is on the river side and a large sliding glass door (no deck, but metal railing) allowed us to listen to the river all night. Everyone slept well. Windows are primarily located at the front of the unit, so it's a little dark in the second bedroom upstairs and at the back of the unit. We used the kitchen a lot which was nicely stocked except for sugar and some of the spice jars were empty. The stove took ages to heat a pan full of water for pasta; the dishwasher was very good. The TV was a little complicated to use (there were instructions and I'm even tech savvy, in the beginning it worked, but at the end we couldn't get it to work). We preferred sitting out on the deck anyway. It is a shared deck and we had a nice conversation with the neighbors who live in Chicago so rent their place out most of the time. My sister tried the pool and said it was very pleasant. Walking into town is a breeze, but the place is nicely apart from the noise of downtown which was great. Frias was great to work with and professional.
