Premium location in the middle of aspen. Room had a great view but the mattress desperately needs replacing. Big irritants are: 1) Check-In is not at the hotel although the lady working the front desk at the hotel was extremely nice and helpful; 2) Parking is a big problem -- it is free but you have to find a spot on one of the residential streets many blocks away; 3) Continental Breakfast selection is rather limited; 4) Room was clean but towel & sheet service during the stay required begging.

The staff was professional and helpful. The location is ideal. The room due to his location facing Paradise Cafe can be noisy. The blinds were ideal for blocking out the lights from the street.
One aspect the owner should address is to remove some chairs. There are too many there for the space. Secondly, his smoking is prohibited (Thank goodness) one doesn't need a large ash tray. I would remove half of the items on the tables I would replace the huge lamp which takes up too much space.. Make the room look more spacious. We did not have lots of clothes, but is quickly seemed crowed and we didn't have any ski gear.

Independence Square is a hidden gem in aspen. Good value and nice, clean rooms. Some rooms are noisy, however, because of the central location. Each room is individually owned and rented, such that some are immaculately decorated and others reflect the fact that they are part-time ski condos. Everything is clean and the experience was delightful.
