Aspen Gearing Up For Opening Day

Published by at under Aspen News

The snow is falling and with the ski season just around the corner, Aspen/Snowmass is gearing up for opening day on November 25, 2010.  Aspen Mountain and Snowmass Mountain will open their doors, well, their lift lines, at 9 AM sharp.

On opening day at most resorts it is common to see long lift lines, warm cookies waiting at the base of the mountain and sugar plums dancing above peoples heads.  Well, not in Aspen, Colorado.  Here, we do things a little differently.

Aspen is the premiere ski and snowboard destination for people of all ages.  In the November 2010 issue of Transworld SNOWboarding, Aspen/Snowmass was ranked #1 Overall Resort, Buttermilk was ranked as having the #1 Park and the #2 Pipe and Snowmass was ranked as having the #3 Pipe.

Aspen/Snowmass has it all.  From the terrain on all four of our mountains to the exciting nightlife and much more in between – we have what you are looking for in a destination resort.

Book your stay today with Frias Properties and receive 15% off of your entire stay!  We book your room, purchase lift tickets at a discounted price and even reserve ski and snowboard equipment from Four Mountain Sports.  Make it easy on yourself this winter, call Frias Properties today at 1-800-555-6344 and we will take care of the rest.

Opening Day is also Thanksgiving, and I’m going to let you all in on a little secret.  One of the best kept secrets in this town is the Thanksgiving dinner presented by the Hickory House in downtown Aspen, Colorado.  The Hickory House has been putting on Thanksgiving for locals and vacationers alike for over 20 years.  This year, they will be serving smoked turkey, roast beef, mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans and traditional deserts.  Get there early, as the food does run out fast.  Doors open at 12 PM.  A suggested donation will be collected at the door; all proceeds go to the Buddy Program.

There’s a reason why people vacation here – come see for yourself!
