Members of the Frias Properties of Aspen staff headed up to the Maroon Bells on Sept. 16 as part of the company's annual luncheon and bike ride that gets us together outside of the office. The event was planned on a perfect Colorado day, with sunny skies and spectacular weather. It gave staffers a chance to take in the amazing fall colors of the Rocky Mountains. Sept. 23 is the first day of Autumn, and the Roaring Fork Valley's foliage is right on schedule. The once fully green mountains have already begun to change into magical shades or orange, red and yellow. It's truely a special time of year.

"The fall colors here in Colorado rival anywhere back East," said Frias reservations specialist Andrew Myatt, a native of Syracuse, N.Y., and a resident of Aspen since April 2006. "I'd say, out here, during the fall season, you get more bang for you buck than anywhere you'll find." The fall colors in Aspen will continue to brighten and will be on display until late October. Higher elevation areas, such as Independence Pass, will change colors earlier than lower elevations, so plan your adventures accordingly. We've even seen some of that "white stuff" up high already!
