Red Brick Plein Air Festival
The sixth annual Red Brick Plein Air Festival runs Aug. 6-13 and puts painting outdoors into focus. ("En plein air" is French for "in the open air.") During the week, there are many outdoor painting sessions where artists are judged on their techniques in using natural light and color. There is a Community Reception scheduled for 5-7 p.m. on Aug. 10 at the Limelight Hotel, which is free and open to the public. All artwork will be on exhibit and sale. The exhibition and sale will continue until Sunday. The event benefits the Red Brick Center for the Arts.
