With both bluebird days and snow in the forecast, there’s never been a better time to hit the slopes.
This year, we’ve been lucky to be graced by the snow gods! During the first two weeks of March, there’s been over 90 inches of new snow according to OpenSnow.com.

Every skier knows there are no guarantees when it comes to weather on the mountain, but with our recent strong storm cycle and snow in the forecast, finding good snow late in the season in Aspen is a good bet.
“Nearly every mountain region of the West has a snowpack that is near or above average, and we should continue to pile on the powder for the next few weeks,” said OpenSnow.com founding meteorologist Joel Gratz.
With just about 100 percent of our in-bounds terrain open, you’ll have more options than ever. Whether you’re a novice just clicking into your bindings for the first time or an advanced powder hound, everyone will be at home and happy on the mountain.
Deep powder and perfect corduroy define this year’s Aspen ski season thus far. One Aspen Snowmass ski patroller made the observation that the snow has been frequent without many dry days.
“I like skiing fresh, upon fresh, upon fresh,” said the patrolman.
Spring Has Sprung
Now, the longer days and warmer temperatures mean Aspen’s best-kept secret – spring skiing – is just around the corner.

Soft groomers, hero snow, and long days of sunshine are hard to beat. And there’s nothing like the après scene on a warm, sundrenched patio while taking in the freshly skied powdered slopes. Plus, select lifts are now open until 4 p.m., and Aspen Mountain has even been known to keep the gondola running for sunset skiing on select dates.
