Aspen Ideas: Health, June 20-23, 2019
Learn more about the big ideas in health
Summer brings more than great weather to Aspen -- it's the perfect climate for thinking about and exploring the big issues and innovations surrounding medicine, healthcare, and global health.
The three-day opening of the Aspen Ideas Festival, Aspen Ideas: Health, is the nation's premier gathering of scientists, clinicians, policy makers, administrators, journalists, and philanthropists.
The conference features a mix of inspiring and provocative experts who dive into topics of medicine and health. While many conferences focus on practical and clinical education, the Aspen Institute's summertime conference approaches health in a fearlessly exciting and creative way. Cross-discipline tracks tackle big ideas through interactive formats like question-rich panel discussions, breakout sessions, speaker forums, and small-room discussions. Plus, morning yoga, nature hikes, outdoor adventure, and cultural offerings add to the dynamic learning experience.
Some 125 presenters, 80 sessions, and 1,500 attendees comprise the annual health conference, launched in 2014. Each year, they come together for insightful sessions with such renowned speakers as genetic scientist Eric Lander, PBS NewsHour anchor Judy Woodruff, global health authority Larry Brilliant, pianist and celebrity bandleader Jon Batiste, and HHS Secretaries Sebelius, Burwell, and Price.
