Sure, Aspen is where the famous and the not-so-famous-but-well-heeled like to head to for a mountain vacation in the USA. After all, it's pretty remarkable here! But that doesn't mean you can't come experience Aspen for yourself. There are plenty of ways to do the same, yourself, affordably. Here are some tips to help you plan your Aspen vacation without breaking the bank.

Getting to Aspen: The most affordable way to fly to Aspen can be tricky.  It is not always more expensive to fly directly to the Aspen airport than it is to Eagle or Denver. Make sure you check all three airports; ASE, EGE, DIA, before you buy. We have seen some deals into Aspen and Vail if your travel dates are flexible. The other part of the decision if you are flying vs. driving is the transfer from Denver to Aspen.

Aspen Lodging: Contrary to popular belief, there are loads of affordable condos to rent in Aspen. By renting a vacation rental condo, you can save money on eating out by preparing some of your own meals. What to Do: Sure skiing and golf come with a ticket price. But in Summer there is hiking, biking, fishing and many more free or inexpensive past times. Any time of year, strolling the dozens of galleries visiting our museums and plenty more activities cost less than $20. Eating on the Cheap: There are literally hundreds of places to eat out in Aspen. Some of the most famous chefs in the world call our valley their home! But don't let that fool you. Pick up a dining guide at our front desk to narrow down your decisions. But some of our favorite "cheap eats" in town are, Boogie's Diner, just down the street for us, is fun for the whole family. Or, for authentic Mexican fare, head for The Cantina, where there is something always going on. If your tastes trend towards Italian, we recommend you try Brunelleschi's on Mill Street. A great place for a quick and tasty breakfast is Peach's Corner Café. These are just a few of the many inexpensive dining possibilities to be found.
