Aspen Snowmass Vacation Blog

In the mountain resort town of Aspen, Colorado, there are plenty of resort choices for vacationers. With so many options, often times the final decision between choosing a rental here or there, comes down to the amenities and services offered at each resort. Some offer a long list of amenities that others do not. As a vacationer, do you know what you're looking for on your next vacation? This week, our blog team takes a closer look at a few choice resorts in Aspen. We'll point out all the great amenities that make them self-contained, and show you why resort rentals are growing in popularity.

The all-in-one mentality in the hospitality industry is, of course, not a new phenomenon. However, Aspen as a town has managed to maintain its historic charm over the years. Local government has worked hard to preserve historic homes, buildings, open space and landmarks around town. Therefore, there has not been a massive influx of giant hotel chains over the years. A few select luxury brands have made it into and around Aspen that offer full-service accommodations to even the most discerning guests. Luxury resorts  such as the Hyatt and the St. Regis Residence Club offer fractional residence rentals through Frias Properties of Aspen, usually 7-night (week-long) rentals.

Fractional residences at the Hyatt, St. Regis Residence Club or the Ritz-Carlton Club at Aspen Highlands offer Aspen’s best, and range in size from lodge rooms to 3 bedrooms. Each luxury brand is unique in location and services, but most offer on-demand transportation, ski valet, gym/workout facility, spa, pool/hot tub, Members’ Lounge and a variety of fine dining. (To decide what best fits your needs, talk with a Frias vacation specialist about what’s important to you.)   There are also a few other resorts around town worth considering: The Fasching Haus at 747 S. Galena Street has a true mountain lodge feel with all of the modern conveniences of home. The Fasching Haus is located only two blocks away from the Silver Queen Gondola, and is also only a short walk to downtown and the Rubey Park bus terminal that offers access to Buttermilk, Snowmass and Aspen Highlands. Units are rated standard and deluxe, 1-4 bedrooms.

The Fasching Haus has a centrally located courtyard that has a heated pool, hot tub and barbecue grill/gathering area. There’s also a workout room and a laundry facility. (Many of the units at the Fasching Haus have a washer/dryer in the unit as well.) Other amenities at this resort include on-site free parking, complimentary Wi-Fi, and an on-site check-in and concierge desk. The concierge can be useful when planning outings ranging from skiing to fine dining. The Frias concierge can order your lift tickets and make your dinner reservations for you! The Chateau Roaring Fork at 1039 E. Cooper Avenue is located right on the majestic Roaring Fork River, 4 blocks from the Aspen Mountain gondola. Many of the units have decks that overlook the river. Accommodations are rated affordable, standard and deluxe, 2-4 bedrooms. The Chateau Roaring Fork has a great conference center that can be reserved for family gatherings, weddings, business retreats, or après-ski. There’s also a large outdoor heated pool, hot tubs, a sauna and workout room. Other amenities include on-site free parking and complimentary Wi-Fi. Although it is very popular in the summer months, the Chateau Roaring Fork is gaining a reputation as a winter resort. The free local bus picks up right outside the condominium complex, so it’s easy to get to the slopes!

The Chateau Eau Claire, directly across the street from the Chateau Roaring Fork also has access to all of the amenities offered above. (The Chateau Eau Claire also has its own on-site hot tub.) The Chateau Eau Claire offers additional lodging: 1-2 bedroom units rated standard and deluxe. The combination of the Chateau Roaring Fork and Chateau Eau Claire are great for large groups that want to be centrally located.
