Planning a wedding in Aspen is almost as fun as the event itself!  Aspen and the surrounding area play host to weddings big and small all year long, from the most extravagant weddings to simple nuptials. In such a wedding-friendly town, there are plenty of places to get hitched. This week, our blog crew takes a closer look at some of the most popular public wedding venues in Aspen and the Roaring Fork Valley.

We'll explore everything from majestic mountaintops to country ranch-style locations with the help of our Frias Wedding Planner. Our planner often works with brides, grooms, wedding planners and family members to create the perfect Aspen nuptials. Our wedding planner knows all of the wonderful venues in town that accommodate rehearsal dinners, weddings and wedding receptions. She is also a key source for securing lodging for the entire wedding party.

If you're looking to pull off  an Aspen wedding, our Frias Wedding Planner said hiring a local wedding planner is a great way to begin the planning process. "Hiring a wedding planner can be one way to relieve some of the extra burden," says our planner. "Most venues require someone to coordinate the day-of activities.  Having worked with most of the planners in town, I would recommend all of them for their expertise and knowledge of Aspen."

Our Frias Wedding Planner said the next step in the planning process is to secure lodging accommodations for the wedding party. "When it comes to lodging, contact Frias Properties of Aspen to meet all of your needs," says our planner. "We rent bed and breakfast hotel rooms in downtown Aspen, up to six bedroom luxury homes and everything in between.  Frias specializes in connecting guests with lodging that is ideal for their needs."

When it comes to picking the right venue, our Frias Wedding Planner said there are a number of great options in the Roaring Fork Valley. Here's her Top 5 Aspen Wedding Venues:

Aspen Mountain Sundeck (top of Aspen Mountain): "Like the name suggests, this venue is accessed by a ride up the gondola. The Sundeck is transformed by The Little Nell catering staff into a fairytale venue based on the bride's interests."

Maroon Bells: "Known throughout the valley as one of the most photographed places in America, Ansel Adams has made this unique backdrop famous. Brides will need to work with the Forest Service to acquire  the permit necessary to use this space. Local tip: There is a picnic area up at the Bells that is available for rent."

T-Lazy-7 Ranch:
"For those brides looking for an authentic Western experience, look no further than T-Lazy-7 to provide a unique setting for a cowboy and cowgirl to spend their special day. Cowboy boots not required."Roaring Fork Club: "Located on a beautiful piece of property in Basalt, this is a private membership club that requires a sponsorship to have a wedding."

Pine Creek Cookhouse: "Accessible only by a horse-drawn sleigh in the winter, cross-country skiing, or your own two feet, this location can be difficult to get to, but it is an unforgettable one. In the summer and fall season, the scenery can't be matched."
