Aspen Snowmass Vacation Blog

Aspen has a long-standing reputation for offering the finer things in life. Rarely is a word like “cheap” associated with Aspen, Colorado. While nothing is cheap in Aspen when it comes to quality, in the world of vacation rentals, there are some condominiums in town that are surprisingly affordable. Cheap rentals in Aspen (in price, not quality) are hard to come by, but we sat down with Frias Vacation Specialist Julie Adams to discuss some inexpensive rental choices around town.

According to Julie, the Frias website is very useful to find cheap Aspen lodging for potential guests, who can select dates and search by specific accommodation ratings. Frias offers rentals in four ratings categories: luxury, deluxe, standard and economy. When you sort to see just the economy units it displays just those! Let’s take a closer look at some economy condominiums close to downtown Aspen and Aspen Mountain that allow you to visit on a tighter budget. Julie helped us pinpoint four cheap Aspen lodging options for your next summer or winter getaway.

Silverglo Condominiums – 940 Waters Ave.
The Silverglo offers condominiums in two, three and four bedrooms that are four blocks to downtown and the gondola at Aspen Mountain. According the Julie, guests love the on-site heated pool that is kept at Jacuzzi temperatures during the winter months. Guests also enjoy the free skier shuttle to Gondola Plaza, on-site free parking, and the helpful staff that has an office on site. “It perfect for the summer or winter,” Julie said.

Shadow Mountain – 800 S. Aspen St.
Shadow Mountain is a skiers dream, located adjacent to Aspen’s historic Lift 1A. Guests love the immediate access to Aspen Mountain, and two-bedroom condominiums at this complex rent quickly in the winter months, Julie said. In addition to the awesome skiing location, guests rave about the on-site heated pool and picturesque views of downtown Aspen, Smuggler Mountain and Red Mountain. “Be sure to book early,” Julie said.

118 E. Bleeker duplex – 118 E. Bleeker St.
Located close to downtown on the west side of Aspen, the duplex at 118 E. Bleeker St. offers two 3-bedroom condominiums that can be rented individually or combined as a 6-bedroom unit. The upper- and lower-level condos each feature a living area and a deck with southern exposure and plenty of light, Julie said. “The upper and lower units are great for accommodating larger parties,” she said.

700 Monarch – 700 S. Monarch St.
If you’re looking for adventure on the mountain, the condominiums at 700 Monarch are an affordable option. First, the condos are only one-half block from Lift 1A and Aspen Mountain, so it’s easy to walk to the lift on an Aspen powder day. Also, each condominium has a balcony off of the living room that looks up toward Aspen Mountain. “700 Monarch offers great value for summer and winter stays,” Julie said.

The Frias reservations team is a useful resource when planning your next Aspen getaway. The staff can recommend a number of lodging choices close to downtown and the gondola. With more than 200 condominiums available in town, Frias can help guests choose accommodations based on the time of year and activities planned. Begin your lodging search, or contact one of our vacation specialists at reservations@friasproperties.com or 800-542-7736.
