Wheeler Opera House

The historic Wheeler Opera House was constructed in 1889 by one of the founding fathers of Aspen, Jerome Wheeler. The buliding served as a home to many businesses institutions including a theater, the theater that still exists today. The Wheeler Opera House underwent a major renovation finishing in 2016 that beautifully preserves the history of the space. Shows ranging from local high school plays to headlining musicians to film festivals and more honor the tradition of performance that Jerome Wheeler created in Aspen over 125 years ago.
