(This week concludes a two-part series on cultural experiences and the fine arts in Aspen, Colorado.) We've been looking at the finer things in life. Just because there is endless outdoor adventure in Aspen doesn't mean the town slacks off on the finer things.

#2 FINE ARTS - The well-known Aspen Art Museum offers year-round programs that feature changing exhibitions with an emphasis on contemporary art. Learn more about Aspen Art Museum. #1 MUSIC - When you come to Aspen, the must-see hot spot for live music is the Belly Up Aspen. Opened in 2005, the Belly Up routinely draws major music headliners - everything from Jane’s Addiction to B.B. King. The venue only holds 450 people, so get your tickets early! Rolling Stone magazine recently named the Belly Up Aspen the #16 Best Club in America. For more than 20 years, Jazz/Aspen Snowmass has provided this mountain community with world-class festivals, performances and education programs. Jazz/Aspen Snowmass festivals include a summer series of weekly performances; year-round education programs; and the new JAS Café downstairs at the Little Nell hotel. The June Festival - once set underneath a canopy tent at the Rio Grande Park in downtown Aspen -moved to the Benedict Music Tent in 2009.   The Labor Day Festival is an open air, dance oriented extravaganza of pop, R&B, rock, blues and soul music, taking place at Snowmass Town Park - with the spectacular Elk Mountain Range as a backdrop, catering to crowds in excess of 10,000 daily.   The festival is currently a 3-day event.
