Old-Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration, July 4, 2022

Parade & Community Village in Downtown Aspen

The Old-Fashioned Fourth of July celebration in downtown Aspen tyipcally brings together more than 20,000 local residents and visitors to honor the nation's birthday in true American style. In 2022, the parade returns to it's typical route, and the new Community Village showcases local artists, small businesses, non-profits, and other local organizations as they celebrate the nation's birthday in true Aspen style.

8 a.m. - Boogie's Buddy Race at Rio Grande Park

This 4th of July favorite returns as a live event with an option to participate virtually. Sign up for the 5-mile competitive race, or join the 5K or 1-mile family/canine walk. For more info, visit the Buddy Program's event page.

10 a.m. - Kids' Parade Bicycle Decorating, Paepcke Park

Deck out those bikes with free decorations from the City of Aspen.

11 a.m. Kids' Bike Parade, starts at Paepcke Park and follows parade route

A 4th of July tradition, the Kids' Bike Parade weaves through downtown Aspen and is a treat for families. Helmets are required, and all participants must sign a waiver (available on-site at the bike decorating event.)

10 a.m. - 2 p.m. - Community Village, downtown Aspen

Visit booths and enjoy free activities presented by Aspen businesses and organizations.

11 a.m. - 12 p.m. - Old-Fashioned 4th of July Parade, downtown Aspen

The City of Aspen presents the classic parade through downtown Aspen.  The Aspen core will be closed to traffic on July 4 to ensure a safe and easy walking experience. The event is free to the public.

4 p.m. - 4th of July Concert, Aspen Music Festival's Benedict Music Tent

The Aspen Music Festival's band takes to the stage to perform stirring, patriotic favorites. This concert is free.

9:15 p.m. - 9:45 p.m. - Aspen Laser Show in Wagner Park

Aspen's Independence Day celebration culminates with a spectacular laser light display in Wagner Park. This event is free to attend.
