Aspen Transportation

Even without a car, Aspen is easy to navigate. Our grocery stores, restaurants, and specialty shops are centrally located in the downtown core, and the best attractions are accessible from town by foot, by bike, or by bus. Here are some useful tips on getting around in Aspen.

Aspen Airport Transportation: Guests of Frias Properties receive complimentary Aspen Airport transportation from our trusted partners at Aspen Luxury Limousine (formerly Smiddy Limo). Reservations must be made at least 24-hours in advance of arrival and departure with the Frias Properties Front Desk: (970) 920-2000 or frontdesk (at) friasproperties (dot) com.

Complimentary Skier Shuttles: During the ski season, free shuttle buses run from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. between the four mountains - Snowmass, Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk. All shuttles depart from Rubey Park with many stops between destinations.

Aspen Buses: The Roaring Fork Transit Authority (RFTA) provides a free and extensive bus service for the Aspen area. Most routes begin and end at Rubey Park on Durant Avenue in downtown Aspen. Visit RFTA.com for more information.

The Downtowner: Catch a free ride anywhere in downtown Aspen. Download the Downtowner App to request transportation, and don't forget to wear your mask!

Taxis: For outings to locations that are farther afield, we recommend calling Smiddy Limo or High Mountain Taxi, two of our trusted transportation vendors that can provide transportation to most locales in the Roaring Fork Valley.

Maroon Bells Buses (summer only): RFTA also runs buses from Aspen Highlands to the Maroon Bells Scenic Area between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. during peak summer months. Car traffic is restricted during these hours, and reservations are required. For more information, see our guide to visiting Maroon Bells Scenic Area this summer.

WE-Cycle Bikeshare (summer only): This bike-sharing service is available during summer months and is now offered free of charge. With many stations around Aspen, it's easy to pick up a bike for a short period of time to get from point-A to point-B. For more information, visit we-cycle.org or download the Transit app for iPhones or Androids.
