Aspen Ideas Festival, June 27 - 30, 2021
In typical years, Aspen Ideas Festival brings together scholars, philosophers, entrepreneurs, world leaders, and other important personalities to discuss ideas and issues that shape the world around us. Sponsored by the Aspen Institute and The Atlantic, the annual event is sure to inspire provocative thinking and action from around the world.
In 2021, the Aspen Ideas Festival is scheduled as a virtual event. While organizers are buoyed by the vaccine rollout, they recognize that large gatherings are a ways off.
"But one silver lining of 2020 is that we were able to bring the festival to more people than ever before through digital programming," said VP of Public Programs Kitty Boone. "And we are so excited to put the experience we've gained towards a new year-round series of interactive virtual events."
2021 FESTIVAL DETAILS
The June festival will incorporate four nights of digital programming with new interactive sessions introduced during the day. The overarching theme will be "American Futures," exploring issues ranging from democracy to science, the United States' role on the world stage, and inequality.
Closely monitoring public health recommendations, Organiziers will make a decision this spring about the possibility of any live component to the 2021 Aspen Ideas Festival on the Aspen campus.
