This week's blog continues a multi-part series on the towns and neighborhoods of Aspen and the Roaring Fork Valley. In this edition, our blog team takes a closer look at East Aspen.
EAST ASPEN: Also known as the "Aspen East End," on the way to the majestic Independence Pass (the Continental Divide). This largely residential area is home to such attractions as the Roaring Fork River, the Aspen Club & Spa, the Ute Trail, the East of Aspen Trail and the Grottos. There's plenty of open space and trails in the East Aspen neighborhood.
Head east along Highway 82 and enjoy aspen groves and rolling hills as you travel the valley before heading up Independence Pass. Note: During the winter months, Independence Pass (Highway 82) to Leadville is completely closed to all traffic due to heavy snow. Frias has a number of complexes in the Aspen East End, but still close to town.
The Silverglo is only four blocks to downtown Aspen and has units ranging from economy to deluxe. There's also an on-site pool heated to hot tub temperatures all year round! In the summer months, guests love the Chateau Roaring Fork and Chateau Eau Claire for their location right on the majestic Roaring Fork River.
