SNOWMASS ACTIVITIES AND ATTRACTIONS

Outdoor Recreation: Snowmass Village is renowned for its exceptional ski resort, Snowmass Mountain. With over 3,000 acres of skiable terrain, it's a winter paradise for skiers and snowboarders of all levels. The resort also transforms into a hub for summer activities, including hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. The surrounding White River National Forest provides ample opportunities for exploration.

Family-Friendly: The village prides itself on being family-friendly, offering activities like the Lost Forest adventure park, complete with a climbing wall, alpine coaster, zipline, and more. Kids and adults alike can enjoy the vibrant mountain environment.

Cultural Experiences: Snowmass Village hosts a variety of cultural events throughout the year, from concerts and festivals to art exhibitions. The Anderson Ranch Arts Center is a renowned institution that offers workshops and exhibitions, contributing to the area's creative atmosphere.

HOW TO GET TO SNOWMASS VILLAGE

Sandwiched between I-70 and Independence Pass and just west of Aspen, Snowmass Village can be accessed via State Highway 82.  The village is most commonly travelled to (on wheels)via Brush Creek Road.  

Driving to and from Snowmass Village is easy in the summer, but a little more limited in the winter, once Independence Pass closes for the season (typically in late October). You can take either I-70 to US 24 and take State Highway 82 over Independence Pass, or I-70 from Denver to Glenwood Springs, where you will take State Highway 82.  Bursh Creek Road is easily accessible from Highway 82.

Flying to Aspen Snowmass is also quite simple. The closest airports are:

  • Aspen/Pitkin County Airport – ASE (3 miles from downtown Aspen)
  • Denver International Airport – DEN (220 miles from Aspen via I-70 and Colorado 82)
  • Eagle County Airport – EGE (70 miles from Aspen via I-70 and Colorado 82)
  • Grand Junction Regional Airport – GJT (125 miles from Aspen via I-70 and Colorado
