This long-standing holiday tradition is one of the most anticipated activities of the Fourth of July week, and you won't want to miss out on all the excitement. Whether you're a seasoned runner or a casual walker, there's a race for everyone! With a 5-mile run, a 5K, and a family fun run, everyone can participate. Plus, the race is family and pet-friendly, so bring your little ones and furry friends along.

This family and pet-friendly event supports the Buddy Program’s four youth mentoring programs, benefiting over 550 youth, families, and volunteers from Aspen to Glenwood Springs, and Rifle!  Register here.

Old Fashioned 4th of July Parade | Main Street
The annual Fourth of July Parade on Main Street is a highlight of the day. Starting around 11 AM, the parade features an eclectic mix of floats, marching bands, vintage cars, and more. It's a heartwarming display of community pride, and kids will love the candy and treats thrown from the floats. The parade will start on Main Street. It will turn South onto Hunter Street, then West onto Cooper Avenue. The parade will continue West on Cooper Avenue to Galena Street. At Galena it heads North for 2 blocks before turning West onto Hopkins Avenue. The parade will continue South on Mill then West on Hyman Avenue.  Be sure to arrive early to secure a good viewing spot.

Afternoon: Family Fun and Festivities

AVSC 4th of July BBQ
The Aspen Valley Ski & Snowboard Club hosts its annual fundraiser every year in Koch Park.  Food is provided by the Little Nell and the afternoon inlcudes live music, beer garden, wine + tequila bar, bouncy castles, dunk tank, yard games, face painting and more!  All benefiting the AVSC athletes. Aspen Music Festival and School 4th of July Concert
Aspen Music Festival and School hosts a free patriotic concert in the afternoon. Bring a blanket and enjoy live music under the open sky. The repertoire typically includes American classics and patriotic tunes, providing a perfect soundtrack to your Independence Day celebrations.  Learn more here.

Evening: Good Old Fashioned Fun

Snowmass Rodeo | July 3rd
Experience a slice of the Wild West at the Snowmass Rodeo. This long-standing tradition features bull riding, barrel racing, and a variety of rodeo events. Scenic Gondola Rides | Aspen and Snowmass
For a more relaxed way to take in the stunning mountain views, hop on the Silver Queen Gondola in Aspen or the Elk Camp Gondola in Snowmass. The Silver Queen gondola takes you to the top of Aspen Mountain, where you can enjoy panoramic vistas, dine at the Sundeck restaurant, or simply relax in the sun.  The Elk Camp Gondola deposits at Elk Camp Meadows, the hub to a myriad of acitivities.  Climb higher to the top pf Elk Camp Chair (11,325 ft.) to steal a special view of the Maroon Bells.
