Why Should I Go Spring Skiing in Aspen Snowmass?

Spring skiing in Aspen

So why does everyone get so excited about “spring skiing”? There are many reasons to love it. To make a long story short, spring skiing lets you enjoy all the upsides of skiing without an added wintry chill! Even within a group of ski enthusiasts, there are folks who shudder from the cold. Let’s face it: skiing with mounds of layers, cold hands, and 10 numb toes does not always make for the best experience.

In mid-to-late February, the temperatures start to rise, the heaviest snow storms have tempered, and the snow becomes more packed, offering less resistance and making it easier for skiers and snowboarders to navigate. The sun also tends to shine just a little bit more, providing extra warmth and opportunities to discover new activities on and off the mountain. Warmer weather and perfectly packed snow? Sign us up!
