Snowmass Village has always been a natural fit for families, and summer makes that especially clear. The village is compact and walkable, the pace is unhurried, and the mountain that spends winter as a ski resort spends summer as something closer to a giant outdoor classroom. For families with children, that combination is hard to beat.
If you are planning a stay this summer, here is a look at what is available for kids.
Camp Aspen-Snowmass
Ski & Snowboard Schools of Aspen Snowmass runs a full slate of summer camps for children and teens, using the Snowmass Bike Park, surrounding trails, and the Treehouse Kids Adventure Center as their home base. Programs run across several formats depending on your child's age, skill level, and interests:
- Bike Camp — Choose from a one-day downhill session, a three-day mountain bike camp, or a four-week trail academy meeting twice a week. All formats use the Snowmass Bike Park and local trails. Open to children and teens across skill levels.
- Rocket Camp — A four-day program for children ages 6 to 12 covering rocket design, construction, and launch, alongside rock climbing, hiking, Euro bungee, and gondola rides. A natural fit for kids who like to build things.
- Mountain Skills Camp — Four days of full-day outdoor programming for ages 6 to 12. Campers head out from the Treehouse each morning for rock climbing, scavenger hunts, outdoor art, and team-building activities.
- Eco Art Camp — A three-day program for ages 6 to 12 focused on creativity and sustainability. Campers work with natural and recycled materials to bring their own artistic ideas to life.

Snowmass Recreation Center Kids' Camp
The Snowmass Recreation Center runs a five-day general summer camp covering music, art, field trips, and outdoor games. It is a good fit for younger children who do well with structure and variety.
Registration is available on the Town of Snowmass Village website.
Anderson Ranch Arts Center
Anderson Ranch has been part of the Snowmass Village community for decades, and its children's programming reflects that depth. Five-day summer workshops are taught by working artists in small groups, covering topics that range from wearable art to cultural storytelling to environmental themes. Age ranges vary by workshop.
Details and registration are at Anderson Ranch's website.
Camp Smashbox
An outdoor camp in the classic sense — a week of gaga ball, yard games, crafts, and the freedom to move between activities. Available to children ages 5 to 12.

The Collective
For drop-in programming without the need to plan ahead, The Collective is worth knowing about. Snowmass Village's community hub runs weekly children's events throughout the summer, including Storytime, face painting, and open time in the Game Lounge. Most events require no registration.
The current schedule is at The Collective Snowmass website.
Staying in Snowmass Village or Aspen
Most programs run June through August, with rolling registration for many. If a multi-day camp is on the list, signing up before you arrive makes sense.
