This locally owned and operated bike shop has been serving Aspen locals and visitors since 1999. They offer a fleet of eBikes, road bikes, mountain bikes, children's bikes and bike accessories, and stand-up paddleboards.
There are a few prime spots for stand-up paddle boarding (SUP) in the Aspen area, but the most popular is the Stillwater section of the Roaring Fork River, located just east of Aspen on Highway 82.
From various put-in locations, you can float down the Roaring Fork River to the Rainbow Bridge at the lower end of the North Star Nature Preserve. The Stillwater section of the river is a slow current that acts like a lazy river and is a great place to get a feel for paddle boarding with a current. Along the way, enjoy serene nature and wildlife along the preserved land. On any given day during the summer, you may share the river with innertubers, canoers, and kayakers.
On your float, you'll pass by "the beach," a favorite hangout spot for families during summer months.
Another option for stand-up paddle boarding is Reudi Reservoir, located 16 miles up Fryingpan River Road from Basalt. At Reudi, paddle boarders often converge along the shoreline near Dearhammer Campground. The turn off to the campground is about one mile past the dam. The meadowed area has less boat traffic and calmer waters.
We have listed our top-recommended local companies that offer stand-up paddle boarding outings during the summer months. For more information, select a vendor below or contact the Frias Properties Concierge Desk at (970) 429-2449.
